so former bigbossman, the one who was ousted / ousted himself circa november 2005 [recall] and i emailed briefly today. it seems a coworker is going to get axed soon, and she asked me to get his telephone number at his new job for her. give him the heads-up that random coworker is going to ring his bell, etc., and he and i get into a nice email exchange, culminating in his, 'hey, i've got a job opening here, second in command, that does x, y, and z.' oh, funny bigbossman, i do just that! but then YOU HIRED ME to do just that, so, well, hey now... gave him the, 'i'm interested if you can pay' email, tastefully worded, of course of course, and waiting to see what he does with it. hmm. how's that for karma? he gets blasted with a demotion he won't take and pilfers his new staff from his old staff one by one, catch the poetic justice?

in other news... seems my 2004 christmas gift o' an ipod mini is about to die. so sad. and by sad i mean, 'shit, i reaaaaaaaaally want a nano, but can't justify another couple of hundred on it.' oh well, c'est la vie......
