the tomunist revolt has begun
please grab you complementary tub of popcorn on your way in.
ok, so i didn't get the job to which big bossman told me to apply. fine. can't be too pissed, the chick who did was more qualified than i, so mazel tov. i did also apply for cool former coworker's job (who has moved on to bigger and better) and it looks... decent... but not a shoe-in either way.
before i apply to the job, to keep the waters friendly and the homefires burning, i told big bossman that i'd like to go for former coworker's job.
'i'd like to apply for the job [on seven.]'
'i'd hate to see you go, but if that is what you want, go for it, i support you, and i wish you the best.'
'cool, thanks, man. i'm itching to move on. for a few reasons.'
[wrinkled brow.] 'what's going on?'
'well, sir, i don't quite know how to say this without sounding like a dick.'
'just say it. it's ok.'
'[bosslady] and i don't have the same symbiotic relationship that she has with the ladies. we get along fine, but we didn't get off to a great start, and it's never improved. and i fear how things will be when she gets back.'

he was great. i have to say, what he lacks in follow-through and sincerity, he makes up in poker face...
'well, let's see how [it] goes, and if [it] falls through, we'll regroup in a few weeks.'
perfect. i let it be known my 'boss' is a cunt and never want to see her again, and didn't get fired.
in concurrent news... i was hired at big brother ten years ago, this summer, as a temp in college. the gent who hired me and i have remained friendly ever since. certainly not friends, make no mistake, as he's a vp and i'm barely out of the range of hourly, but we certainly dish about coworkers rather candidly in that way that people who've known each other for years can do. well, his office is a most desirable part of the fifty nifty, and he's told me he'd love me to pop on over and give a talk on what i do for big brother, to motivate and encourage his staff.. ok... so, looking forward to an unseasonable suntan and a few days of bullshit 'training.' let's see if this pans out... i think my karma is uber-overdue for something in my favor.
aah, but this could go the way of the job for which i was a shoein... tbd... stay posted.
