i think i've had quite enough

and it's only monday. so i woke up on saturday, after chatting with a friend who turned out to be an asshole on friday night, to a frozen computer. weekend off to a start, already. freezing is kinda odd for ye venerable mac, but we all get hangovers, i suppose. restart george. nothing. i'll spare you the intricacies, but after buzzing and bleeping and pushing this and touching that, i get him started one last time. i'm good. run him through the sleep / restart / shutdown, and he dies. for good.

go to the genius bar at apple where hassan, my genius (if you will), did some tests, pushing this, touching that, plug / unplug, defaulted, but george died on the operating room table. long story, either a new computer or a new hard drive. so, big daddy opted for the new computer. i didn't need that money, anyway. computers for all! first round on me!

BLAH.

go back to the flophouse where i had neither heat, hot water, nor a responsive 'super.' harry. you need to step the fuck up and either leave a forwarding contact or answer your goddamned cel if you're not at home. his door was covered with 'i don't have hot water, harry.' and 'again with this bullshit.' in keeping with the theme, i called him, not like he'd answer. (he's actually in my cel as, 'useless.') finally, at like 7 this morning, when i reconciled that i'd probably take YET ANOTHER ice-cold shower is when the pipes started to clank. imagine. so today, i didn't have a cold shower. that's something. but this now commonplace winter russian roulette is getting old. will i? won't i?

and the kicker is that i have a lovely little head cold. george stress related? heat and hot water related? who knows. either way, the only thing that makes today redeemable is that bosslady isn't in.
