and so off it went...

geez, i do nothing at work all day, host a cook-off, and i get emails from executive vice presidents telling me how wonderful i am. unbelievable. oh yeah, and an ovation for all my work.

the mac-off went off without a hitch. as mac and cheese has the unfortunate reputation of being a pedestrian food, i had table cloths, sternos and aluminum trays, brahms in the background, and an ice sculpture (from a mold i got at urban outfitters, how fucking cool am i...) augmented the nine entrants (four others called out sick... butterflies? hmmm....) with catered salads and main dishes, it was a good time. exhausting putting it all together (well, the floor admin ordered the other food and tables, but still), and i have no idea why i was asked to do it without help (not that i wanted any, don't get me wrong.) i think it was a test. i get a fabu review, the event went off without a hitch, for god's sake, promote me already and let's call it a day.

pondering a sick-day monday, more for exhaustion than my nagging little ear ache. (love my doctor's PA, what a scream.) perhaps a day-trip to boston to root on my friend, the editor-in-chief, in his marathon endeavors, but it would seem a monsoon is on the schedule for monday, so who knows what jetblue will do. maybe me and miss bartricia schnapps greenway are due for a day of hooky cocktails more sooner than later. (i called out to hit the robert moses exhibit at the queens museum last winter, miss greenway and i had a delightful day eye-molesting gapboy while shopping, hit a diner in queens with a genuine spinning dessert rack decked out in neon, then the aforementioned hooky cocktails at a down home bar that actually bought. back. a. round. (that neverrrrrrrr happens these days. i think i might like queens.) god knows i like being a queen otherwise.

big daddy here blew out his knee running over the winter, so maybe i'll have to change the title of this blog to '10014cyclemaster2000' or whatever that ridiculous thing at the gym is called. drank myself half blind yesterday early evening, so the mri was rather, um, borderline comfortable (lol). results tbd.

man, if i couldn't run, i'd have to up my xanax dosage. how much would that suck?
